The agreement signed during GITEX Global 2024 by Ossama El Samadoni, General Manager of GBM Dubai and Mohammed Iqbal, Executive Vice President and Head of Technology at Mashreq, aims to deliver cutting-edge solutions to enhance the bank’s digital offerings and meet the evolving market needs.
As Mashreq expands its global footprint, it sought a technology partner to strengthen and consolidate its existing platforms, increase performance and support mission-critical workloads with the best-in-class infrastructure solutions. GBM’s offerings will not only resolve these challenges but also introduce cutting-edge technologies to optimize Mashreq’s existing infrastructure.
According to the agreement, GBM will upgrade Mashreq’s critical system by deploying the Next-Generation IBM POWER10 Series . The powerful processor will enhance security, reliability, and scalability. It will also support Mashreq with disaster recovery solutions while simultaneously reducing its data center footprint.
With the IBM Cloud Management Console, Mashreq will gain deeper insights into its resource utilization and performance. This empowers the bank to host critical workloads on the powerful processor
